FULL VIDEO TOUR here: www.vimeo.com/1016531633/ 2014 Coachmen Encounter 36BH – Bunkhouse with 3 Slides & King Bed. For sale by owner in Ponchatoula, Louisiana. In the video, we detail the good, the bad, and the ugly; it's mostly cosmetic, so you can take this unit camping today!
Summary of Features:
This 2014 Coachmen Encounter 36BH has been our home on wheels for years, and now it’s your chance to enjoy its many features. We bought it in 2018 with 8,391 miles from the original owner. It has just under 70,000 miles, nearly all highway miles as we used a secondary vehicle at destinations. However, we’re moving overseas and need to sell this great motorhome.
Exterior:
At 37 feet in length, this motorhome is large enough to comfortably house a family but still manageable on the road. Built on a Ford F-Series Super Duty chassis, the Triton V10 engine provides 362 horsepower and 457 ft-lbs of torque (Coachmen RV Source), ensuring plenty of power for towing and road trips through mountainous terrain. The 80-gallon fuel tank offers great range, and the motorhome’s 19,020 lbs GVWR ensures it can handle a full load of passengers and cargo.
The exterior is built with aluminum body materials and fiberglass sidewalls for durability. The roof has been resealed twice, and the awning was upgraded to a 14-foot model, providing great outdoor shade. The three slide-outs include toppers, protecting them from debris and keeping the interior clean.
The tires, replaced three years ago, are in excellent condition and regularly serviced. A spare tire is included. The auto-leveling jacks work flawlessly, making campsite setup a breeze.
While this motorhome is mechanically sound, it has a several cosmetic blemishes. The windshield has cracks from rocks, and the driver-side rear bay door has a small dent but functions without issue. Additionally, the driver-side front wheel panel is cracked and temporarily secured with duct tape but has not affected functionality. The motor for the electric steps is broken and will need to be replaced.
Interior Features:Living Area:
The three slide-outs create a spacious living environment. The sofa and dinette were upgraded in August 2022, providing modern and comfortable seating. The captain’s chairs were also replaced at the same time, both of which swivel to add more seating when parked. The vinyl flooring is easy to clean, though there are cosmetic hairline cracks that do not affect functionality.
We upgraded the TV to a smart TV in August 2022, perfect for streaming your favorite shows. The surround sound system enhances the entertainment experience, making the living room feel like a theater.
Kitchen:
The kitchen features a three-burner stove, oven, and a full residential refrigerator that runs on both electric and propane. We upgraded the kitchen sink in September 2024, and it’s brand new. There is plenty of cabinet storage for cookware and food. The kitchen has some water damage along the baseboards, but it’s cosmetic and doesn’t affect functionality.
Bunkhouse:
This model’s bunkhouse layout is perfect for kids or guests, featuring two bunk beds, each with a 13-inch TV and DVD player. It’s a cozy, private nook while still being close to the main living space.
Master Suite:
The master bedroom at the rear features a king-size bed with plenty of closet space. The sliding door adds privacy, while shades and curtains allow for light control. The carpet in this space adds comfort.
Bathroom:
The centrally located bathroom features a step-flush porcelain toilet, upgraded in 2023, offering durability and convenience. There’s also a glass-door shower, a large sink, and plenty of counter space. The vent fan keeps it well-ventilated, and the vinyl flooring makes cleaning easy.
Mechanical and Electrical Features:
Other Disclosures:
Based on the information I’ve gathered, it would cost about $600 to get the generator working, around $2,500 if you choose to replace the entire windshield, and approximately $1,200 to install new electric steps. We have reduced the asking price ($29,900) by $3K to reflect the estimated cost of these upgrades: ($26,900).
Why We’re Selling:
We’ve loved our time with this motorhome, but we’re relocating overseas and can’t take it with us. This 2014 Coachmen Encounter 36BH has been well-cared-for and is ready for its next family. We’ve made thoughtful upgrades and maintained it well, so it’s ready to go for your next adventure.
