Description
Moving means I’m losing my barn/garage where my GTRV has been stored. I’m a previous Westy owner and bought in 2021 this Ford van conversion over VW because it’s much easier to service and a stronger reliable engine. Originally a Colorado camper van, the body is very clean and runs great. Principally used as bike hauler for my cross country adventures and there’s enough space inside to park your bikes.
Camper Van Highlights:
1999 Ford Econoline 150
4.6L Triton V8, 220 HP
2WD with limited slip differential
Automatic transmission with over drive
Trailer Towing package
Moog 2” front lift springs , 2” lifting rear leafs (still can be garaged)
Nova Kool Fridge, Suburban propane stove & heater, sink, and Samsung microwave all work great.
10 gallon fresh water tank plus city water hookup, 6 gallon black/gray tank
Marine/Shore power
Sleeps 4: Queen size lower sofa bed with an upper full size bunk. Memory Foam mattress topper.
Van/Camper Upgrades since 2021
1) New Tires (Yokohama Geolandar A/T -275/70/R16; 13,825 miles on tires) and Rims (American Racing)
2) Improved highway handling and affects of wind/cross-wind driving by: beefed up the the front sway bar and bushings (Hellwig) and added to rear sway bar (Hellwig); strengthen ride with new Fox shocks; and installed a steering stabilizer. This greatly improved the ride characteristics for long distance travel.
3) Upgraded the radio by adding Pioneer RDS AV Receiver with a backup camera & CarPlay
4) Fiamma F45S awning
5) Telescopic ladder to access roof rack included
6) Thetford Porta Potti stowed in cabinet
7) Updated the original Magnetek Convertor to Progressive Dynamics 4135 35 Amp Power Center which greatly improved charging times. Replaced batteries with New AGM. Added 100 watt solar panel to system. Wiring battery disconnect too for storage.
