Description
This well-maintained 2017 Forest River Forester MBS 2401W is a Class C motorhome on a Mercedes Benz Sprinter 3500 chassis - perfect for those looking to hit the open road in style and comfort. With its sleek lines and modern design, it turns heads wherever we go. With only 50,000 miles on the odometer, your new home away from home is ready to take you on all of your adventures. The MBS2401W fits easily into State Park and most Forest Service campground sites where larger RVs will not. Combine this with easy driving and a spacious interior- it's hard to find a better setup.
Built equally for dry camping in out of the way places or plugged into modern RV parks, this coach will allow you to enjoy a variety of experiences. Equipped with a 200W rooftop solar panel and 60 amp battery power converter, you have everything you need for an extended camping experience in National Parks, rural campgrounds, or boondocking without power. The built-in Onan generator provides power for the microwave, 15 K BTU air-conditioning, and electrical outlets when not plugged into an outside power source. With both an electric heat pump and 30,000 BTU gas furnace, you'll stay warm and toasty when the temperature dips, no matter where you are. An Arctic Pack tank heater keeps the undercarriage tanks from freezing in extreme weather. The 35 gal freshwater tank provides an ample water supply to keep you going for days, longer if you conserve, which is supported by the 32 gal gray and black water holding tanks. This coach fits in just as well in the fanciest of RV parks. Put out the 16' power retractable awning, turn on the party lights, set up your lounge chairs and relax with a cold one. Or hit the pool and then enjoy coming home to a warm shower and dinner in the oven.
From weekend getaways to cross-country trips, the Forester MBS 2401W has everything you need to make your journey a memorable one. It drives like a breeze and its 8' width makes urban and backroad driving a cinch. From the reclining bucket seats you'll enjoy views of the countryside while listening to a playlist or audiobook on the in-dash stereo system. With an on-screen navigation system and set-up for Syrius radio, the hours and miles will fly by. Front and rear Hydraulic Disc Brakes and dual rear tires provide safety and a sturdy ride on even the most mountainous roads. We've equipped this RV with an All-Terrain Sterling Roadmaster tow apparatus, giving you the freedom to leave the coach set up in the campground while you explore the surroundings in your tow car.
Step inside, and you will be greeted with a spacious and well-appointed interior. The premium vinyl tile, cherry wood, and modern wall coverings in neutral colors keep it fresh. The power-retractable full-length slide opens up the entire living space to provide ample room for you and your guests. You will find electrical plugs that run on shore power throughout the cabin, and a USB charging station works off of 12 volt batteries for full-time phone and computer charging capability. The kitchen is equipped with all the essentials, including a 3-burner stove, gas oven, dual- power refrigerator, and microwave, making meal prep a breeze. Swivel the front bucket seats around to be part of the living area, tip back and relax after a long day on the road. The in-coach stereo system with surround sound and indoor/outdoor speakers are controlled by a panel above the door. Watch television or DVDs on the 24" screen mounted above the upper berth and prewired to the antenna. It also comes cable-ready. The wrap-around dinette is perfect for meals or playing games in the natural light provided by the overhead skylight and large windows. The kitchen area is perfect for cooking on the go or while parked. The large stainless steel sink can be covered and a pop-up counter extension provides space for meal prep and cleanup. The three-burner gas stove with electronic igniters, along with the gas-powered oven, have cooked an entire Thanksgiving feast - including pecan pies! The good-sized refrigerator/freezer can be programmed to run on either gas or electric/12 v power to keep food cold.
The bedroom offers a cozy retreat, with one of the most comfortable queen-size beds we've experienced and we're finicky sleepers. The wrap-around bed means no climbing over each other in the night. The closet and under-bed spaces provide storage areas for all of your belongings. An accordian-style privacy curtain can separate the bedroom from the living area. Watch a DVD from bed on the 14" screen mounted on the bedroom wall. Overhead lights allow for reading in bed and windows allow the breeze to lull you to sleep. Room darkening retractable shades are found throughout the coach. An overcab double bed with cargo net provides extra storage or a comfortable sleeping area for grandchildren or other adults. Additional sleeping space can be made up from the convertible, wrap-around dinette. The bathroom features a shower with skylight, toilet, and sink, so you can freshen up wherever you are. An overhead vent and fan eliminate condensation and bring in fresh air.
We are the original owners and have taken special care with our pride and joy. Most of our miles have been between California and Colorado to visit our daughter and her family, with side trips here and there. Our grandchildren love camping with us and on more than one occasion we've been able to provide shelter, either under the awning or inside, for our tent camping family when rain has threatened to hinder their experience. We have had the engine regularly serviced and addressed recalls at the local Mercedes Benz dealership, including the 50K miles tune up in February, 2025. The diesel engine requires very little compared to our other vehicles. With regard to the coach portion we've had all the little adjustments that a new vehicle requires, as well as any recalls that have come up, attended to by a reputable RV dealership. We've had the slide mechanism checked and lubricated every year so that it continues to function perfectly. In July of 2024 we had a completely new roof and skylights installed so you can check that off the list of worries when buying a used RV. You can rest assured that we have taken great care in maintaining our home away from home, the source of many happy adventures for us.
