Description
Our family is getting smaller, so it is time for a new family to enjoy our happy-memories-filled 2018 Forest River Georgetown XL 369DS. Local sale only. 2019 Jeep Wrangler Sahara with soft and hardtop, permanently installed brake system and Blue Ox tow bar also available.
We are the original owners so instead of going to a dealer who knows little to nothing about an individual coach, I know everything about it. Even if you choose a different coach, you will find many useful inside tips in my description, and I am happy to answer your questions.
We picked this coach after years of research while still having a travel trailer does spending so much money really make sense? It does, the many happy years and places we would have not seen with a travel trailer are priceless! But the kid is out of the house, so we are downsizing. This floorplan was perfect in that it offered a bath and a half (yes, two toilets do come in very handy even if travelling as just a couple), an L-shaped sofa utilizing the space gained from the main slide-out, and a king (camping-king) size mattress. The full-beam rear bathroom with his and hers sinks really is something hard to beat. There is no wasted space like you find with so many coaches. I found that off-putting when shopping around. What good is a quadruple slide-out if all it creates is what I call the bowling alley absolutely unused wasted space?
The residential French-door fridge also puts to an end the misery of just having too little room in camping fridges.
If I were in the market, I would not again buy a new coach, I would buy from a seller that has dealt with all the issues new coaches come with, like myself. The list of improvements and small repairs would be too long, but everything has been upgraded, improved and made better.
To get into it, we upgraded the rear sway bar and added a steering stabilizer. It should be illegal to sell a new coach without it, it is a valuable handling and thus safety improvement. No more white knuckling on windy days although it still may not handle as a diesel pusher. Also, to the tune of $7,000 or $8,000, all original bonded leather covering was replaced with high-quality marine grade vinyl: Captains chairs, dinette with center cushion, sofa. I was surprised that any manufacturer would put bonded leather into a coach like this but they did that even in million-Dollar coaches. Something to be aware of!
I upgraded the shower valve to thermostatic valve (as any coach of this caliber should). Just recently I pulled the fridge out to strengthen the sub-structure. For that, I constructed a platform you will need if you want to service or replace the fridge. Of course I include that. At the time I also replaced the PVC icemaker water line with a stainless-steel quality one.
Minor additions/improvements include the replacement of the mattrass with a high-quality one, a Bose sound bar and new Samsung TV in the bedroom, Yamaha soundbar for the main TV, addition of black-out curtains from main cabin and bathroom to bedroom to dim light and suppress sound from main cabin to bedroom (if one wants to sleep while the other prefers to watch TV until the wee hours), four new house batteries 12/24, new engine-driven A/C compressor 11/24, new main slide room topper 12/24, new windshield 1/25, fresh buffing and waxing 1/25. The coach shines like a new one but does have a few very small cosmetic blemishes, as you would expect when you drive it. I will leave many extras like sewer hoses, surge protector. It has a full cover that will last another year or two, and a brand new in the box cover to come with. There are many happy memories, but the coach is ready to go hit the road and serve a new owner or family for many years to come. We just completed the coast-to-coast great American road trip in summer 2024. Full set of original documents and instructions. It is a wonderful coach, but please know what you are getting into like every mechanical machine, preventive maintenance and loving care go a long way and are a constant companion. Furnace, roof A/Cs and tires are original, but everything works as it should. Tires have tire covers that stay with the coach. I also have exterior covers for the main windshield and driver/passenger side windows for extended stays. As this advertisement is up, we continue to enjoy our coach, so milage will increase slowly as we like Fort Wilderness in Orlando and the Keys. I will happily talk you through the rest of modifications once you decide you want to look at it. Please, NO low-ballers (show me a coach like this for a lower price and we can talk) and brokers. Please be ready by having cash or a financing commitment before you come out to look.
