Description
Runs great. While many folks will not like having twin beds, my wife and I chose this layout because we wanted to be able to get to the bathroom in the middle of the night without having to crawl over our partner. ;-)
I’ve had no engine issues. Regular maintenance has been done as well as all recalls including one for transmission. I’ve taken this up to Alaska several times including camping on the Arctic Ocean. The only chassis issue I’ve had was that the driver window actuator broke on my last trip to Alaska causing the window to slip. This has been repaired. Other than that it’s been trouble free.
Some DIY work has been such as adding an additional 100 watt solar panel on the roof, adding extra insulation in doors and walls, installation of a utensils drop-down drawer, spice rack, drop-down drawer over beds, spare tire on rim, spare tire mount. Several things have been replaced the past couple of years they include:Replacement of refrigerator/freezer, Awning, Windshield, Driver Window Actuator, Propane Regulator. Also I added an ATS connector to the microwave circuit so it could be run from a battery when dry-camping. My BFG KO2 tires have less than 8,000 miles on them.
In addition to adding insulation to the walls and doors, I made insulated panels for the windows. These are included in the sale.
The RV has 200 Watts solar on the roof plus 100 watts portable so you can park in a shade and move the portable solar panel to sunny location. The batteries can be recharged from the solar panels, alternator, generator, or electrical hookups. I originally had 2 100 AMP hour AGM batteries, but recently replaced them with 2 100 AMP hour Battleborn Lithium batteries. Since AGM batteries should not go below 50% depletion prior to fully recharging, by the switch to the Lithium, I effectively doubled my usable capacity. Since I’m diabetic and use insulin, keeping the fridge running 24x7 is critical. I’ve never had problems with my power supply getting too low. I mainly dry camp and have been able to get a full recharge each day.
In addition to swapping the house batteries, I replaced the engine battery last year.
The unit has a Truma Combi heater/water heater which can run on electricity or propane. In addition there is an air conditioner.
The microwave is a convection microwave so you can use it to bake as well as microwave when in convection oven mode.
There is a 25 gal. fresh water tank with a 13 gal. black and 13 gal. grey. I can easily go a week before needing to dump or refill my fresh-water tank.
It has a 12-volt TV which can accept connections over the air, or through a cable hookup. Also, it supports an HDMI port so you can use an Amazon firestick to stream over the internet.
On my last trip to Alaska, I averaged 18 MPG.
