ELECTRICL & ELECTRONICS MODS:

Lance does not offer a complete lithium battery electrical system with high-capacity roof solar and whole-house 120 VAC inverter. The seller of this trailer has overcome this limitation by upgrading the electrical system with the components listed below. All of these components were selected because they represent the industry's best quality products available, regardless of price. Professional practices were used throughout the modification process.

The electrical upgrades allow you to tow the trailer with the RV refrigerator running on 120 VAC inverter power (no LP) most of the day. You can run the microwave for 5-10 minutes in the morning to prepare breakfast w/o hookups, and the 500 watt roof solar will likely recover the battery state-of-charge before you finish the dishes.

These upgrades also include a Victron 18 amp DC-DC converter that can use the tow vehicle as an additional battery charge source (if the tow vehicle is modified to provide the necessary 12 VDC power). This can be very useful for towing at night when the solar is not charging.

The bulk of these components reside in a slide-in pallet located street-side on 1/3 of the pass-through storage compartment. All of the components and fuses are readily accessible and easy to find, without the need to crawl on the ground under the trailer frame. A complete wiring diagram and manuals are included.

The single OEM 12 VDC lead-acid frame mounted battery was removed and replaced with a single BattleBorn 275 AH Lithium Battery located on the pallet. A cold-spare 5 LB (1 Gal) LP tank (requires manually swapping the LP hose) was added in the space previously taken by the OEM battery, eliminating the dreaded "we ran out of propane in the middle of the night" problem with an RV with only a single LP tank. A spare 20 LB / 5 GAL LP tank with LP gauge is included.

The total weight added by these mods (after the removal of the OEM 12 VDC lead-acid battery), including the electronics, wire, fuses, switches, and the pallet is ~ 180 Lbs. This weight change had a marginal effect on the trailer's original 1,068 Lb payload, and a comparable increase of hitch weight.

PRICING:

Note to potential buyer: In 2023, Lance included an extensive list of Standard Equipment that in 2024 are now Factory Installed Options, at additional cost. The result of this change is that the base price of the 2023 Lance 1475 was higher that the base price of the 2024 Lance 1475, which gives the appearance that there was a significant price reduction in 2024. Once you add all of the desired Factory Installed Options back into a 2024 model, the 2024 pricing is probably comparable, if not higher, than the 2023.

While the seller does not expect to recover the total cost of the upgrades noted above, the prospective buyer should be aware that the total cost of these upgrades to the seller exceeds $7,000. Consider if the inclusion of these upgrades is right for you.
