Description
If you're in the market for an Oliver, you're probably already well aware of the brand's reputation. Oliver makes high-end fiberglass travel trailers that are built to compete with Airstream and other top-tier brands. The Oliver brand is known for its high-quality construction and attention to detail, and I got to experience that quality first-hand over these past few years. There is a lot of hype surrounding the Oliver brand. After two and half years of ownership, I can confirm that the product lives up to the hype.
This 2022 Legacy Elite II is in excellent condition. That's not to say it hasn't gotten a fair bit of use--I've criss-crossed the country with it and spent more nights in the Ollie than in my home in Sugar Hill these past two years (I'm a climber and the Ollie has been my traveling home on climbing trips). However, the trailer is truly built to last. Both the exterior and interior are still like-new, a testament to the top-notch craftsmanship of their construction.
This unit includes the twin bed standard floor plan, with a dinette that converts to a third bed if desired. It is also equipped with the Lithium Power Pro Package, a significant solar and battery upgrade that makes boon-docking incredibly easy (boon-docking has, in face, been the standard way I've used the trailer--docking at a full-hookup site has been extremely rare in my 2+ years of ownership). The package includes 390 amp-hour lithium batteries, a 340 W roof-mounted solar panel array and a 3000W inverter. A fully equipped bathroom that converts to a shower stall and an outdoor shower make the trailer well suited for full-time living.
The trailer has lived up to the promise of being a true four-season travel trailer, even when boon-docking (I have used it in the desert southwest in the summer--the A/C can run on the inverter--and in the mountain west in the middle of winter, and I've been incredibly comfortable in both environments). The furnace has been upgraded with a new circuit board (by Dinosaur Electronics), and I entirely replaced the suspension (leaf springs and shocks) after about 30,000 miles--so the current suspension on the rig is nearly brand new.
I bought the trailer at the start of a three-year sabbatical from working world and spent quality time in the trailer in the Tetons of Wyoming, Cooke City Montana, the High Sierra, Yosemite, Moab and the Canadian Rockies, to name a few spots. It's truly been a home away from home for me these past few years. It will be hard to part with, but I'm heading back to work in a few months and don't expect to use it much for the next several years.
