Description
Regretfully, it has come time to sell our beloved Jayco popup / tent trailer. We are the second owner’s of this well cared for popup. It is 13 years old, but it is in great condition and always garaged by the previous owner and us as well. We are only selling because we no longer have storage available at our home and we were spending thousands storing it at a facility.
The popup has a great layout that features a king size pull out bed on one end, a queen size on the other, as well as a sofa and dinette that turn into beds. Sleeps 6 comfortably, but Jayco claims it can sleep 8. The dinette slides out creating extra interior space as well. The kitchen includes a sink, two burner cooktop (+exterior BBQ) and a 3-way refrigerator. There is also a shower porta-potti combo area, although the shower was never used. We have added additional padding and insulation to the slide-out beds and this particular trailer comes equipped with heated mattresses which adds extra nighttime comfort to the powerful furnace. The exterior features a covered storage area at the front which is very useful, as well as an awning, and exterior BBQ. The trailer also has an electronic lift with a remote control, so setup is relatively easy with two people - although we have done it with one person many times. We have made many small upgrades to include all LED lighting and adding a group 31 battery that was just tested. Too much to list!
Other for sale listings online for this model range from $8,750 - $10,000
The Good:
Well cared for. Full of features. Huge beds and spacious layout. Will be hard to find a trailer of this age in this great of shape. Popped up in our driveway during lots of rain this last week and no leaks present. Ready for camping with a tested battery and a new spare tire.
The Bad:
We recently had a family emergency which prevented me from making this trailer perfect for sale. The porti-potti has an electric pump that is not working. We replaced the fuse last outing and it worked, but it may need to have the pump filter cleaned or a new pump installed. It is a DIY project. The flush mechanism is mechanical and still works, the pump just flushes water around the bowl, but we just use bottled water in the rare event the toilet was used.
The Ugly:
Some minor holes that have been patched in the tent material. Usual wear and tear inside and out. Have never used the hot water heater, but last time out it worked. You should sanitize fresh water tank before using.
