Description
This is a very nice custom convesion of a Ford Transit van. The conversion was done by a retired Army veteran, with the help of a licensed electrician. I purchased it from him in November 2021, and I have enjoyed owning it. I took it on a long cross country trip to Oshkosh Wisconsin last summer with no problems. The interior is like new. It has a nice backup camera installed to make it easier to backup, and an electric rescue winch on the front.
Over this past winter, water got into the air filter housing and softended the air filter. Bits of paper debris were consequentally sucked into the turbo charger inlets, which damaged the turbo charger blades. Lithia Ford in Boise replaced both turbo chargers, and all of the seals associated with that portion of the engine. It also has new spark plugs. The engine and brakes were given a thorough inspection by the dealer with no problems found after the work was completed. The dealer discovered that the drain hose for the windshield catch basin as disconnected, which is how the water got into the engine compartment. They reconnected it. I suspect that it had been disconnected with the van was repainted, and someone forgot to reconnect it.
I have a lemon squad report that was done in the van by a professional inspector in January of 2023 when I first considered selling it. I need to settle some back taxes, and unfortunately need to sell the van, although I would prefer not to.
This will make a great van for anyone who is looking for a camper van, and the price is way below most dealer prices for something with its features.
It includes an electric refrigerator, microwave, gas stove and oven, mini-split AC/Heater, 300W solar panels, inverer with batteries, 30Amp plug, and a water heater and shower wand with a shower tent in the rear. Queen size bed with new memory foam mattress. Lots of cabinets for storage.
