Description
Itasca Navion on a Mercedes Chassis - Get a REAL DEAL on a way to travel this beautiful country this spring, not only in comfort, but in a small motor home that is easy to maneuver and park! See the most beautiful parks: Yellowstone, Yosemite, Zion, Bryce, etc. and enjoy gorgeous sunsets, amazing mountains, and incredible wildlife. We have done all that, and you can too!
The chassis is a Mercedes Sprinter with a 3 liter, 6 cylinder turbo diesel engine, that does not need DEF. These vans were designed as delivery vehicles, so they have enhanced lubrication and engine cooling.
We purchased this Class B+ RV in 2011 with an odometer reading of 7,200 miles. Currently it has 210,000 miles. We have been all over the USA and Canada with it, sometimes towing a car. (The chassis has Dodge emblems because it was built when Daimler owned Chrysler. Dodge sells a replacement grill with Mercedes emblems if you want them.)
Why buy a motorhome with this kind of mileage? Diesel engines typically average 500,000 miles or more. We like to travel and we don’t like problems. We keep it well-maintained. We keep a spreadsheet on maintaining the chassis which we have done from the day we purchased it and we have the receipts to prove what we have done. All repairs have been done by certified shops. If interested, we can provide that information.
The RV sleeps three adults or two adults and two kids, in two separate areas. The queen size bed is in the rear of the coach as a slideout while the dinette converts to a bed. This arrangement is great for separation of space if traveling with a friend or with kids.
All the appliances operate, and we have made a number of changes to improve storage and functionality. We like to be comfortable even if we are off-grid. We have created a custom manual to explain the modifications made and their operation, which can be provided as well.
