Ready to Road Trip

The Winnebago Revel is a perfect platform to begin building your dream van, but lacks storage, seating and requires $$$ in thoughtful upgrades to make the empty garage functional. Upgraded Creature Comforts
The good folks at Canyon Adventure Vans spent a day building out the garage of our Revel with their signature Garage Lounge Storage System. The GLSS transforms the standard Revel garage into a functional space with bench seating that doubles as storage and a swivel table. We went for the bed risers to (1) further improve storage capacity (the space created by the risers is great for stuffing your sleeping bags and pillows) and (2) allow for higher clearance from the bottom of the bed to the floor. Having that additional clearance creates enough space for the second adult-size sleeping area on a custom mattress that fits between the GLSS benches. The privacy inserts for the windshield and cab windows take up space and are a pain to put up each night, so we added the Canyon Adventure Vans blackout privacy curtain (pricey, but worth every penny).

Exterior Gear by Owl Vans
When you buy a brand new Revel, the spare tire is UNDERNEATH YOUR RIG. This can be a scary proposition for offroading, so we pulled the spare out and stuck it on an Owl Ladder Tire Carrier on the back of the van. By consolidating the ladder and tire on one rear door, this opened up the side with the stock ladder for a large Owl Expedition Box, which is the perfect place to put a tent, small chairs, boots or anything you don’t want to store in the van. The box is mounted on an Owl Sherpa for even more carrying optionality. Also on the back end is a hitch-mounted step, which makes getting in and out of the garage MUCH easier. Oh, and we hung a spare fuel tank with a Rotopax on the Ladder Tire Carrier. Just in case ;)

Service Update and Care
Mercedes recently completed full Service B maintenance in accordance with the prescribed maintenance schedule and conducted all necessary software upgrades. This has been our family’s beloved road trip and camping van. We love this vehicle and took great care to maintain and improve every detail.
