Description
You’ve found a rare opportunity to acquire an exceptional luxury coach, made by a company that placed quality above all else. This 2004 Beaver Santiam 40DST rolled off the production line February 21st, 2004. It rides on a custom Roadmaster R8RR 8-bag chassis and is powered by a Cummins ISC 330hp diesel (pre-DEF) putting out 950 lb/ft of torque, mated to an Allison 3000 MH 6-speed automatic transmission with electronic shifter. The odometer on this three-owner motorhome reads less than 31,000 miles.
An Onan 7500W generator with less than 1,100 hours provides power off the grid, drawing diesel from the Santiam’s 100-gallon tank.
The coach boasts a 10,000-pound tow rating and features a rear-view camera and monitor.
All mechanicals have been professionally maintained, and the rig has been kept in heated storage almost all of its life.
The coach itself reflects the legendary Beaver attention to detail. It’s a true bath-and-a-half model, with porcelain electric toilets and a tub-type shower. Hookups for a washer-dryer are provided in the master bath.
The queen bed in the master suite sleeps two, and so does the air bed on the pull-out couch in the living space. A fold-down J-couch brings sleeping accommodations to a total of five.
In the galley are Corian countertops, a three-burner LP range and a KitchenAid microwave/ convection oven (new 2021). Climate control is provided by two rooftop AC/heat pumps, and there are also two LP furnaces. The basement is heated as well, and storage includes two cavernous pass-through compartments.
For entertainment, there’s both the coach’s original audio system and an upgraded in-dash audio system. It features a Winegard satellite dish and controller. Power and antenna are available for connecting a CB radio. Both of the original Sony CRT televisions were replaced in 2021 with smart TVs.
This Santiam is equipped with a full-featured alarm.com home security system covering intrusion, smoke, heat and carbon monoxide.
House batteries were replaced in 2021 and a new inverter was installed in 2023. The large double refrigerator was new in 2021. All original incandescents and halogens have been replaced with energy-efficient LEDs.
But is this 19-year-old coach perfect? Of course not. If we were taking it on another cross-country adventure, we’d first replace the steer tires and change fluids and filters. The fuel gauge is inoperative, which we’ve never found to be inconvenient. The fabric on one of the window treatments needs repair. The sunshade in front of the co-pilot’s seat should be replaced.
The asking price reflects those imperfections.
This is a beautiful coach, built to last.
Non-smoker coach.
Clean title.
