Storage, Storage, Storage! Looking for a motorhome with plenty of space? We are selling our beloved Winnie to make room for a smaller unit. This 34 foot Winnebago is in nice condition given it's age.
The Good:
For being as old as it is this motorhome has a lot of great features that even some of today's entry level models lack. This has an ice maker, dual-fuel fridge, solar chargers, 7,000 watt generator, automatic transfer switch, hydralic leveling jacks, backup camera with sound, and a 100watt inverter for TV.
A few upgrades have been done over the years: flat TV in living room, DVD/VCR in living room, new Bluetooth double DIN radio in coach, and new bluetooth radio on exterior.
All of the systems on this motorhome work. Both coach AC units blow cold and the Dash AC was just serviced last summer. The Ford V10 engine runs strong and it drives nicely.
There is more storage on this RV than we could use. Starting on the driver’s side exterior there are three large doors for a connected storage bay where you can keep your hoses, electrical cords, ladders, tools, etc. The passenger side has two large bays that extend across to the underside of the motorhome. We kept chairs, tables, grills, and had room to spare. Inside there are overhead cabinets over the driver compartment, overhead cabinets at the sofa, and overhead cabinets over the dinette. The kitchen has sizeable cabinets and drawers along with storage drawers under the dinette. The bedroom has one large closet, one small closet, multiple cabinets and drawers, underbed storage, and overhead cabinets.
The average:
The flooring and upholstery is 24 years old. It shows signs of wear. Some of the pneumatic tubes to hold the storage compartments open are missing or worn out. The gelcoat is faded and the images are chipping.
The Bad:
The generator doesn’t like to run on hot days. This is probably fixable. The generator was tuned up with new spark plugs and new carburetor last summer. The windshield is cracked and will need to be replaced. There is some fiberglass damage on the exterior from a few incidents involving stationary objects and parking. There are water stains on the ceiling above the bed in the bedroom but the ceiling is solid. The roof has been resealed.
The ugly:
There are water stains on the ceiling around the skylight in the shower. The headliner is dropping in this area. The skylight has been re-sealed to prevent further water incursion.
Overall, this spacious motorhome is in good condition, especially considering the age. A 30-amp power cord is included. JD Power lists the average retail price for this unit at $11,150. We are located in Central Maryland along Interstate 70 a short drive from Baltimore, Frederick, and Washington, DC.
