Description

  • More ruggedizing was necessary? Yes. One of our first trips was down 20 miles of washboard road. We arrived with the refrigerator door and a cabinet door on the floor along with their contents. The stove had to be put back together. The stove and the heater had to be mounted securely to enable the trip back. The cabinet and refrigerator doors have since been ruggedized.
  • 200 Watts of Solar becomes 30-70 Watts of solar on cloudy/rainy days. If the weather forecast is sunny, I park in the trees or in a canyon without concern. Bogart Trimetric controller and battery monitor tracks usage and accurately displays what percent of battery capacity remains. Charger has remote temperature sensor at battery for appropriate charge rates given the battery temperature. Also includes an inverter for 110 volts for curling irons etc.
  • Please note this has the hard dormers and includes BBQ and awning. Additional mounting on "Ali" allows awning to be placed on opposite side.
  • A quick note that we are downsizing to a Aliner Scout 10, so I think it is a good product overall, with a need to make modifications to be reasonably rugged. As a retired mechanical engineer (with a couple of electrical engineer classes), I have also made the following upgrades which you will notice in the pictures:
  • Sway Control - This adds an additional level of safety
  • Rear Video Camera - Great for backing. Great for seeing cars directly behind you while driving. Infra-red at night
  • Stable dining table - Even when the single large diameter pole is firmly attached, you are going to spill your drink while eating or playing cards. This table latches to solid oak bracket on wall. And yes those are two towel racks I added to the bottom of the table.
  • True Four Seasons - By insulating the water tank, making the external shower head water lines removable and adding a fan to circulate cabin air into the water storage cabinet, this can be used when temperatures get very very cold.
  • Extended Cell Service - Look for the little antenna among the pictures. Amplifies the signalBetter Storage - Without four batteries, a microwave and AC are useless unless you can plug into 110V.
  • Microwave slot shelved with matching doors. Storage at table modified to hinge up, so that cushions don't need to be removed. I have the microwave and am glad to reinstall it if you so choose.
  • Of course I have left out all the features that are standard, which you can find at aliner.com
  • The countertops in the Expedition model are 30" high!
