Description
The Popular 210 is rare, with 4 front seats and two privacy doors. Unlike the versatile, which is housed on a Dodge chassis, the Popular is on a Chevy chassis which allows the large King bed in the back to be oriented front to back. I did a nationwide search last year to find an RV that met all of the criteria that I was looking for and this was, by far and away, the cream of the crop. I travel with brain injured individuals (TBI), and, due to Covid, none of my clients were allowed on planes or in restaurants, so I decided to travel with them in RV's. I rented a Class A in October 2020 to do a trip around New England, but found it far too large and expensive, so I decided to purchase a Class B. I needed two devoted bedroom areas, a unit that was economical to drive (this gets double the mpg of the Class A) and easy to maintain (Chevy). This unit is comfortable, a dream on the highway, easy to park, and drives like new. The interior is clean, the upholstery, carpet, and drapes, though not perfect, are in extremely good condition, and all systems work as designed. I had a used generator added, a DVD/TV, and a back-up camera. Additionally, I have done a front brake job with new rotors and put in a new A/C compressor. The tires and battery are new also. It has after market air-adjustable shocks on the front. I found this unit at a dealership outside of Chicago. Hitting dead end after dead end, I finally came upon a dealer in Wisconsin, Petite Auto and RV sales. The two brothers' dealership specialized in Class B (hence the name, "Petite") and they were extremely particular with the units they put on the lot. They know histories and never buy units that are abused or fixer uppers. They charge a premium for their units, but mine is indicative of their high standards. I am extremely happy with the unit. It's original owner kept it garaged until 2017 and sold it with 52,000 miles. They used it as a second unit, towed behind a Class A diesel. Petite bought it from the second owner at 72,000 miles, who also garaged it. Since January, I have used the van on 4 trips, including rt between RI and Denver, Cocoa Beach, Fl, North Carolina, and NH. I love it. I bought it with 72,000 miles and it now has 84,000. It runs and drives like new, no complaints whatsoever. Because my clients all have balance issues, my plan is to use the sale of this to custom build an RV with multiple hand holds from the ceiling (Sprint chassis) and install a power lift.
