I'm selling my beloved van "Bob" whose first life was that as a fire truck in the small town of Duderstadt, Germany. This van is the original iteration of the "transporter" or sprinter van for Mercedes (1987 Mercedes Benz 310). I bought the van in Germany in 2018 and registered it as the first civilian registration, then converted it to a camper and shipped it to the United States. It brought me all around North America, but now I am planning to move back to Germany so I must part ways with Bob.

The engine is the robust Mercedes 2.3L, 95HP carbureted gasoline engine (602 series), which runs great. I've recently replaced the fuel filter, spark plugs, and spark plug cables. While it is an older vehicle, the ride is notably quiet and can cruise up to 75 mph no problem. It has a manual 5-speed transmission. I bought the vehicle with only 39,000 km (~26,000 miles), and now the vehicle has just over 103,000 km (~65,000 miles). There's still plenty of life left on this Mercedes engine.

The body is generally in good condition, with some minor rust spots near the bottom panels. Otherwise the paint is all original and in good condition, including the decals of the municipal seal for the town of Duderstadt.
