1978 AVION Model C – 7.0 Metres (23’)We purchased this from an estate and it was in very neglected shape. The full self-resto-mod took a year as we took time here and there from our work schedules. We stripped it to the ribs and under belly. Here are the details… New Replacements: Floor insulation, sub floor and laminate floor, fiberglass walls & ceilings, brakes, shocks, tires, awning, two ceiling exhaust fans, rubber window gaskets, LED lights, oak cabinets, tri-fold sleeper couch (full size) with memory foam surface, dinette memory foam cushions, laminate counters and fridge face, light filtering and room darkening z-shades, two floor to ceiling closet/shelves just inside the bathroom, custom pleated curtains using original rails, TV, low profile antenna, leveler, and more. Have all receipts.Gently Used Replacements: Heater, AC, hot water heater, fridge, cooktop, toilet, shower head, electrical panel. These items work like new. Have all receipts.Original Avion Parts Salvaged: Rock guard, rims, propane tanks, awning arms and framework, Avion dashboard, wooden window valances with up-light feature, kitchen and bath sinks, tub/shower, bath mirrors, some of the light fixtures, dinette that converts to sleep surface. The windows were removed and reinstalled with fresh butyl caulk.She’s sort of small, but oh so sweet. Tows like a charm and folks cannot believe it is a 1978! We’ve used it now for a couple of years, but there isn’t enough room for our two grandkids who have an interest in occasionally traveling with us. This camper is ideal for a couple or an individual.
