Description
If you're a couple looking for a place to rest between adventures, but don't want the hassle of driving an RV, this is for you! Roadtrek designed the interior of this Mercedz Benz Sprinter with everything you might want. Stove, oven, microwave, refrigerator, sinks, toilet even a shower! The entertainment system is fantastic, and you can watch TV by either swiveling the captains chairs to face aft into the living area, or our favorite is to hop in bed with the dogs with surround sound. When you're at camp, roll out the awning and you have a fantastic set up. While it is great to pull into a camping space with electric hookup and the conveninece of unlimited power, we have boondocked off the grid for five days and the only reason we had to move then was work. When going cross country over several days drive to join friends for a camping trip, we just stop in a rest area because we dont need an electric hookup. We just use the ample batteries, but aslo have a propane generator if we want more power. But we dont do that much and the generator has only 67 hours. While driving it has an inverter, so we recharge electronics enroute.
Storage is great for trips when you're just sleeping in the van (we used it often to visit family and have a comfortable bed). But when we were camping off the grid and needed lots of gear and food for a bunch, we would rent a small trailer from U-haul. Thought about buying one and outfitting it with shelves to hold my gear so we would always be ready to go without having to pack or plan, but I didn't have a place to store the trailer, so never did. But if you have a place for that, I would recommend it. Trailer hitch included and rated up to 5,000 lbs.
For us though a key point is it fits in a parking space. Homeowners associations that prohibit RV parking have never had any issue with our van. I have used it as my commute vehicle on many occasions. At one point we lived about 90 minutes for a major airport and many times I would drive to the airport the night before a late flight and just stay in the airport parking. Have done it the other way as well, when the flight home gets in late and I didnt want to drive. You can do that comfortably in this wonderful van.
Easy and pleasant to drive. My wife drove it with three dogs, two cats and two birds from San Francisco to New York without any complications.
