Description
RENTED THROUGH SEPT. 2015. PLEASE CHECK BACK FOR NEXT YEAR. THANK YOU.
We are offering a single RV spot on our land that is a perfect paradise for the right people looking for a minimum one-month or long-term rental in their own RV or trailer. This is a beautiful, serene place on a large lake and river in North Florida that is known for abundant wildlife and some of the best bass fishing in the country. The pull-through RV spot measures about 150 feet long by 30 feet wide (not including long driveway pull-through) and has additional areas for you to set up a screen tent, etc. Gated property, 50 amp service, water, sewer, picnic facilities, boat dock, and more to come. Pets welcome. We are just finishing this site, so if you read this listing, we'd really appreciate some feedback so we can accommodate guests -- you or someone else -- the best way possible.
Our property is an extremely private spot and the site is hard packed solid limestone. It is at the top of the property deep in the woods. A short walk or ride down the hill/driveway leads you to the picturesque river and dock, where you can keep your boat. You will rarely see other people on this waterway and certainly no houses or other development. You can fish or just sit on some deck chairs and enjoy the surreal sunrises and sunsets.
This 4.5-acre plot is near the Ocala National Forest which offers hiking trails, birding, ATV riding, hunting, horseback riding and fishing. A public boat ramp is 2 miles from your site and a country store is 6 minutes down the road. Your site is among majestic live oak, palm and magnolia trees. The property also boasts citrus trees that bear oranges, tangerines and grapefruit that you are welcome to sample. You are centrally located within 30-40 minutes driving time of 3 cities: Salt Springs, Ocala and Palatka, where you will find everything you need (groceries, shopping malls, etc.) plus natural swimming springs, museums and restaurants. An hour's drive can take you to places such as historic St. Augustine and Gainesville -- home to the University of Florida -- and even more nature and cultural adventures. Orlando, with its thrilling theme parks, is a 2-hour drive.
We want to find the right people who will love this natural, out-of-the-way setting as much as we do and be quiet, reliable guests who are good stewards of this land. You would be welcome to start a garden or tinker on the property in cooperation with us to make it a better destination for you. We are looking for special people who may fit into several scenarios. For one, we would welcome people up north who want a great place to escape the winter storms and you could keep the RV on the site year-round when you return home, guaranteeing your spot for the next winter if you choose. We also would be happy to have Floridians who want to base their RV here and use it as a vacation getaway or jumping off point for other travels. We'd like a one-month minimum stay for those who would like to try it out.
This property is extremely unique for Florida, where hills are rare and a quiet, undeveloped waterway can be hard to find. This land is visited by deer, turkey, other wildlife and birds of all kinds including the majestic bald eagle. Although this property is remote, it is easily reachable by paved roads. But if you enjoy RV parks that offer a clubhouse or pool, this would not suit you. This property offers an escape in the truest sense.
We have a small cabin at the bottom of the hill in a very large clearing by the lake, which we visit occasionally. There are some retired neighbors to one side who also have a vacation log cabin that they visit occasionally. So sometimes you will be completely alone and other times you will have some people around the property, although you are completely separated and out of sight from both our cabin and the neighbors.
