Description

Just got back from our farewell voyage, making sure the camper is road ready.

This 2016 Cirrus 800 is a hard side, non-slide, wet bath truck camper for short bed trucks. The interior floor length is 8’3″ and the interior height is 6’5″. The base dry weight is 1,955 pounds and 2,490 pounds with standard features. It has a 26 gallon fresh water tank, a 16 gallon grey tank, and a 19 gallon black tank.

This one is modified for comfort and ease of use. In place of the factory dinette, this 800 has a custom interior, with swiveling recliners and a swing-away dining table. It has two USB charging stations, a built-in AC converter with AC outlets front and rear, and Alde baseboard heat that can run on Propane or AC. The camper has been upgraded to 12V lithium batteries, with lithium-spec electronics in the charging system. It has two solar panels. This is the first year of the Cirrus 800 and lacks the later factory option of fold-down steps below the door. So we'll throw in the Little Giant folding steps we use.

Outside storage compartments were modified to hold two standard propane tanks instead of the factory standard single tank. It has a swiveling TV with an FM radio, both operable from the overhead bed by remote control.

Pictures show the lounge chairs with stop railing and storage bins behind; permanently installed two-way Fantastic Breeze fan, kitchen with added folding side table (all dolled up for use), bed (crumpled, sorry); 5 cubic foot refrigerator, solar panels and equipment, rear camera equipment. And some pics of the camper in use.

It does have a few problems. The floor in the kitchen is bendy (not rotted; there is no wood. We've been assured by NuCamp it just needs capable hands to fix. We don't have those hands.) One burner doesn't like to stay lit; ceiling above the left side of the bed still rough from a leak fixed by Truck Camper Warehouse years ago. Screen door won't stay fixed. Needs someone with more patience to rethread.
