Description
This micro camper is the transit connect mini cargo van and was built with the southeast in mind. I added a tiny air conditioner to help with hot, humid nights. This means that I opted to not add another feature in order to make room. I used this van to travel to a remote work site 2 nights every week for a year. I now have a local job and have gotten married, so I need to find a bigger solution. This is a great “me” van. I now need a “we” solution. If you’re a “me” it could be perfect for you too.
The van is insulated with 3m thinsulate. I have a maxair fan with remote, alpicool refrigerator, 250ah of batteries (one is Inergy systems lithium and the other is 150ah AGM) There is 200 watts of solar on the roof. The two batteries charge separately via either the built in controller in the Inergy or a victron controller on the AGM. The Inergy also charges off the alternator while I drive. I have a third solar panel and a 30 foot additional cable so if you park in the shade, you can set that panel out in the sun and still charge up.
My AC will run for about 5-6 hours on each battery. (Depends on how hot it is). On super hot nights, I will have to shift it to the second battery. Both batteries will charge back fully before the next night. On a cloudy day, I also have the Inergy fast charger to allow you to plug in to a wall outlet to top off. (I had hoped to add additional lithium batteries to the Inergy, but had to make do with the AGM because Inergy had massive delays on getting their news batteries out.)
There is a large drawer and two big compartments under the bed for storage. On the passenger wall is more storage and dual fans.
The AC vents out the rear door, but doesn’t prevent you from opening it fully. The hoses disconnect easily. This space could be used in the winter for a heating system if you desire and swapped out to the AC again when it gets hot.
If you’re not interested in the AC, or the extra battery, extra charger and inverter, or the fridge, I can take those out and negotiate the price.
The van is still under manufacturers warranty. If you need further assurance, I’m willing to get an inspection.
