Description
This unit has many optional upgrades above the base unit for this model. This motorhome has been maintained with all required maintenance performed as scheduled. We have all or virtually all maintenance records as well as manuals. All systems and appliances are in good working condition. The motorhome is in "turn-key" condition. Tires are in good to excellent condition depending on the tire. Motorhome has LOTS of storage underneath. We had a brake controller system added so that a trailer or car can be towed behind it.
The Cummins diesel engine, Allison 6-speed transmission, and the Spartan chassis, we understand, are built for a useful life of 500,000-1,000,000 miles.
We are only selling the motorhome because my wife, who stayed in it for the past several years when doing endurance horseback rides, is no longer doing such rides and no longer needs it.
We reupholstered all interior furniture including the driver and passenger seats, dining table chairs (4), and the pull-out queen sleeper sofa. We also re-carpeted the entire interior. Kitchen is fully equipped with utensils, plates, cups, glasses, etc. all purchased new when we placed them in the motorhome. We also installed a new navigation/audio system not present when purchased.
The former owner of the Winnebago (2002-2016) owned a truck repair shop and, as we have done, meticulously maintained the motorhome with his staff. In 2016, he purchased a new Winnebago and jokingly told us he would like to take this one back, if we would part with it, because the 2016 high-end Winnebago that he purchased for near one-half million dollars, he said, was not as well built and as solid as the 2002 one we had purchased. That former owner informed us that he had paid just under $400,000 for this motorhome in 2002.
We took it on a cross-country trip in the fall of 2018 (our only major trip) without incident save some re-caulking that was done free of charge on the windshield. The motorhome did not slow when going up all steep inclines in the Rocky Mountains.
NOTE: I am a former federal and local prosecutor (DC/SD). You can expect fair and straightforward dealings in connection with purchasing this motorhome as well as accurate representations in this ad.
NADA "average" (condition) retail on this motorhome with the options included in the NADA valuation tool not including the brake controller, which is an $800 add-on, is $52,940, and this motorhome is not in "average" condition.
