2012 Global Expedition Pangea LT Lifting Roof on 2001 Ford F550.

The GXV factory remounted this Pangea on a rare low mileage 2001 Ford F550 XL owned by a government entity. It has the legendary 7.3 diesel “million-mile motor” made before def fluids & catalytic converters. The vehicle can burn high sulfur fuel and can travel the world without disabling emission equipment.

Replacing the Mitsubishi truck with the Ford provides nearly 100 hp gain, easier servicing thru Ford dealers, and lower repair costs.

With the lower roof, this vehicle is more stable in winds, corners better, and gets better fuel mileage than high profile vehicles. It cruises at 75 mph and climbs mountain passes at freeway speeds. This GXV is in a league by itself in terms of ruggedness, insulation and use of marine components vs RV parts.
